Engage billing has two moving parts: what you subscribe to, and what you use. This article explains both and where to see them.
Subscriptions: Numbers
Phone and fax numbers bought through Engage carry a monthly fee, billed to your Pabau payment method. The exact price is always shown before you confirm a purchase — nothing is bought silently. Ported numbers take on a monthly fee when they activate with Pabau.
Usage: Calls, Texts and Faxes
- Calls are billed per minute.
- SMS is billed per segment — the composer counts segments as you type (up to the carriers’ 10-segment cap). See our SMS Pricing and Sending Limits in Engage article.
- Faxes are billed per page.
Where to See It
Each channel’s settings panel has a Usage tab (Calls and Fax), and Reports charts volumes across every channel — see our Engage Reports: Track Calls, Messages and Team Performance article. Your Pabau billing area holds the invoices themselves.
Keeping Costs Predictable
- Remove numbers you no longer use — each carries its monthly fee until removed.
- Keep templates to one SMS segment where you can.
- Watch Reports → Messages to see channel mix — WhatsApp conversations can absorb volume that would otherwise be per-segment SMS.
