Your clinic probably already has a busy email address. Forwarding it into Engage pulls that mail into the unified inbox — without changing the address your clients write to. This article shows you the route.
How Forwarding Fits In
Engage email is two-way out of the box; forwarding is for the mail that already arrives elsewhere. You keep the existing mailbox, add a forwarding rule in its provider, and each forwarded message becomes a conversation in Engage.
Step 1: Start from the Email Panel
Click the Settings cog in the icon rail, choose Email, and click Forward an inbox on the intro card. The panel gives you the forwarding address to use.
Step 2: Add the Forwarding Rule at Your Provider
In your email provider’s settings (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or your host’s control panel), create a forwarding rule from your clinic address to the forwarding address from Step 1. Most providers send a confirmation message to verify the forward — Engage receives it, so the confirmation appears as a conversation in your inbox; open it and follow its verification link.
Step 3: Verify the Sender Address
So replies can go out from the same address your clients wrote to, verify it as a sender: Verify a sender address on the same panel. For the best deliverability, also authenticate the domain — see our Email in Engage: Sending, Forwarding and Mailboxes Explained article.
Step 4: Test the Loop
Send a test email to your clinic address from a personal account. It should appear in the Engage inbox under Email; reply from Engage and check the reply arrives back. Once the loop works, the whole team can stop switching tabs.
NOTE: Prefer a live two-way sync over forwarding for a personal work mailbox — that is what the Gmail and Office 365 connections are for. Forwarding suits shared clinic addresses.
