Software & System Requirements

This article explains the essential software and system requirements for optimal performance.

Pabau is a cloud-based software, meaning it doesn’t have heavy hardware requirements. However, for the best experience, here’s what we recommend:

Pabau System Requirements

  • Device: Desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone

  • CPU: Minimum: Dual-core 2.0 GHz + | Recommended: Quad-core 3.0 GHz +

  • RAM: Minimum: 8 GB | Recommended: 16 GB +

  • Operating System: Windows 10 or later | macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later

  • Browser: Latest version of Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge, or Safari 15.4 +

  • Internet: Minimum: 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload | Recommended: 25 Mbps + stable connection

NOTE: Modern web browsers, especially Google Chrome, can be memory-intensive. It's common for a browser to use 4GB of RAM or more just for its basic operations. With less than 8GB of total system RAM, you may experience slow loading times or performance issues as your computer struggles to manage both the browser and the Pabau application simultaneously.

Troubleshooting Slow Performance

If you feel that Pabau is loading slowly, the performance is often related to your local computer's hardware or internet speed rather than the Pabau system itself.

  • Check Your System Specifications: You can easily check if your computer meets the recommended specifications.

    • On Windows: Open the Command Prompt by searching for cmd.exe. In the window that appears, type dxdiag and press Enter. This will open the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, showing your system's processor, memory (RAM), and other details.
    • On macOS: Click the Apple icon () in the top-left corner of your screen and select "About This Mac."

  • The Need for Hardware Upgrades: Technology evolves, and software becomes more advanced over time. Just as a smartphone or laptop needs to be upgraded every few years to run the latest apps smoothly, your computer hardware may need an upgrade to keep up with the demands of modern web applications. If your device's RAM is below the recommended 8GB, suggesting an upgrade is the most effective solution for significant performance improvement.

Mobile App Requirements (Pabau GO)

  • Platform: iOS only (Pabau app is not available for Android).
  • Device: iPhone or iPad running iOS 15 or later.

Accessing Pabau on Mobile Devices

Accessing Pabau through a mobile web browser — including, but not limited to, Safari, Chrome, or Microsoft Edge on iOS devices — by visiting app.pabau.com is not supported.

We only provide support for access via the Pabau GO application on iPhone and iPad.

Any technical issues, data inconsistencies, or performance problems that occur when using Pabau through unsupported access methods (such as mobile browsers) fall outside the scope of our support obligations. Clients are responsible for ensuring that all staff accessing Pabau on iOS devices do so exclusively through the Pabau GO app, that their operating systems and browsers are kept up to date, and that they comply with the minimum system and hardware requirements outlined above.
