Pabau’s prescription module includes intelligent drug alerts to help clinicians prescribe safely. These alerts are powered by Risk AI, which checks for potential issues when prescribing medications, including drug interactions, allergies, and client-specific diagnoses.

The system is designed to:

• Prevent unsafe drug combinations.

• Highlight relevant side effects based on the client’s medical history.

• Improve patient safety and reduce prescription errors.

Step 1: Prescribe to Client

Start by logging into your Pabau account using your login credentials. Search for the client using the search bar at the top of the screen. Then, proceed to prescribe to the client.

Step 3: View Drug Interaction Alerts

When you select two or more drugs, the AI evaluates the combination using brand and generic names. A result is returned indicating whether the combination is safe or potentially risky, with a short explanation.

Step 4: View Side Effect Alerts Based on Client Diagnoses & Allergies

To make side effect information more relevant, Pabau cross-references each drug’s side effects with the client’s medical record:

• Diagnoses: Any client diagnosis is scanned for keyword matches in the drug’s side effects.

• Allergies: Known drug allergies are also scanned for keyword matches.

Highlighting rules:

• Matches are highlighted in red in the side effects section.

• Hovering over a highlighted item shows the reason for the alert:

  • Diagnosis match: “Diagnosis: [Diagnosis Name]”

  • Allergy match: “Allergy: [Allergy Name]”
