How to Organise Conversations with Labels in Engage
Labels are your clinic's own colour-coded tags — "Aftercare", "Appointments", "Important" — that make it easy to organise and find conversations. This article shows you how to create labels, apply them and filter by them.
Step 1: Create a Label
In the inbox sidebar, hover over Labels and click the +. Give the label a name, pick one of the colours, and click Add. The label appears in the sidebar immediately, with a count of the conversations carrying it.

Step 2: Apply It to a Conversation
Open a conversation and click the label icon in the header, then tick the labels you want. A conversation can carry several labels at once.

Step 3: Filter by Label
Click any label in the sidebar to see only the conversations that carry it. The count next to each label updates live.
TIP: Labels also power automation: the conversation-routing builder has an Add label action, so incoming conversations can be labelled automatically — see our Building Routing Workflows: Conditions and Actions article.
