How to Create and Manage Credit Note Types

Credit note types help you explain why a credit note was issued to a client. By creating specific types, you make it easier to track and report refunds or adjustments, keeping your clinic’s finances clear and consistent.

Step 1: Navigate to Credit Note Types

Start by logging into your Pabau account. Once you're in, click on Setup in the left sidebar menu, then click on Objects under "Developer and Other", and select ''Credit Note Types''.

Step 2: Create Credit Note Type

When you access the Credit Note Types section, you'll see a list of all existing types along with their name, code, and whether they are active or inactive.

To create a new credit note type, click "Create Credit Note Type" in the top right corner.

Step 3: Enter Credit Note Type Details 

In the pop-up window, fill in the following fields:

• Name (required): Enter a clear and descriptive name (minimum 2 characters).
  Example: Duplicate payment
• Code (required): Add a short internal reference code (minimum 2 characters).
• Credit Note Type Prefix (optional): Include a prefix if needed for reporting or tracking.
• Active: Tick this box to make the credit note type available for use.

Once done, click ''Create'' to save the new credit note type.

Step 4: Edit or Delete a Credit Note Type

To edit a credit note type, hover over the three dots next to the desired credit note type, select ''Edit'', make the necessary changes, and click ''Save''.

To delete a credit note type, hover over the three dots next to the credit note type, select ''Delete'', and confirm the deletion in the prompt.
