How to Apply Custom Discounts to Quotes

Applying discounts during the quoting process helps you adjust pricing for individual clients, offer promotional rates, or close deals more effectively. In this article, we will walk you through how to apply a custom discount to individual line items during quote creation in Pabau.

Step 1: Navigate to Quotes

To create a quote, navigate to "Money" in the left side-bar menu, then click on "Quote" to access the Quotes page.

Step 2: Start Creating a New Quote

Click the ''Create Quote'' button located in the top-right corner of the Quotes page to begin the quote creation workflow.

During this process, you will:

  • Select the client or lead the quote is intended for
  • Optionally associate the quote with an existing appointment
  • Choose a quote template and provide basic details such as the quote name, owner, location, and expiration date
  • Add buyer comments and specify payment terms
  • Add line items, including products, services, or custom items
  • Configure signature settings for client approval
  • Set up payment options, if applicable

Step 3: Apply a Custom Discount

Once you have added your line items to the quote, you can apply custom discounts to each item individually.

In the ''Line Items'' section, locate the ''Discount'' column for each line item. Click the dropdown arrow next to the current discount option to view the available discount types.

At the bottom of the discount list, you will find options to enter a Custom Percentage or a Custom Amount. Select the appropriate option, enter your desired discount value, and then click ''Add Discount'' to apply it.

The total for the line item will update immediately to reflect the applied discount. Repeat this process for any additional line items where you wish to apply custom discounts.

Step 4: Review and Finalize Your Quote

Once you’ve applied any custom discounts and confirmed all line items, click ''Review'' to review the quote in full.

Custom discounts will be clearly displayed next to each line item, and the overall pricing will reflect all applied adjustments.

When you're ready, click ''Create Quote''. A pop-up will appear with several options:

  • Copy the quote link to share it manually

  • Write your own email using the generated quote link

  • Send the quote directly to the client via email from within Pabau

  • Or cancel if you'd like to make further changes

Choose your preferred action to complete the quote process.
