How to Create a Custom Field

Custom fields offer a way to tailor Pabau according to your specific requirements. Whether you need to capture specific information about clients, leads, appointments, products, staff, locations, or services that aren't initially available, this feature allows you to create it yourself easily.

Step 1: Access Custom Field Setup

Log in to your Pabau account, navigate to the left sidebar menu, and click on Setup. From there, click on Data under the Business section and choose Fields

Step 2: Initiating Custom Field Creation

Click on the "Create" button located in the upper right corner. Choose the category for which you'd like to create a custom field.

Step 3: Custom Field Configuration

In the custom field creation modal, input the necessary information:

  • Name: Provide a name for the custom field.
  • Category: Select the category under which the field will appear. You can create additional field categories by clicking on "New Category".
  • Field Properties: The toggles vary depending on the field type, but the "Required" toggle is always available. Enabling it ensures that the newly added field must be filled out before finalizing the creation of the specific object.
  • Field Type: Field type refers to the range of input options available for the field being created. For example, if you select "Date," you'll be able to choose the date from a calendar when filling out the field. On the other hand, if you choose a selection-based field (Multiple Choice, Single Choice, Dropdown), you'll need to add the options while creating the field.
  • Visibility Options: Toggle to hide or show the field. If marked as required, the field cannot be hidden. Enabling the toggle reveals additional options for controlling visibility.

Step 4: Confirming Custom Field Creation

Once all necessary details are filled, click on "Create" in the upper right corner to confirm and create the custom field.

How to Edit a Custom Field

Step 1: Access Custom Fields

Log in to your Pabau account, navigate to the left sidebar menu, and click on Setup. From there, click on Data under the Business section and choose Fields

 

Step 2: Selecting the Field to Edit

Locate the custom field you wish to edit and click on its name.

You can utilize the search bar in the upper right corner to quickly find the desired field.

Step 3: Making Changes

Once in the editing interface, make the desired changes to the custom field. The editing process closely resembles that of creating a new field.

Step 4: Saving Changes

After making the necessary adjustments, click on "Save" located in the upper right corner to confirm and save the changes.

By following these steps, you can edit custom fields in your Pabau account, ensuring that your data remains accurate and up-to-date.


How to Delete a Custom Field

Step 1: Access Custom Fields

Log in to your Pabau account, navigate to the left sidebar menu, and click on Setup. From there, click on Data under the Business section and choose Fields

 

Step 2: Selecting the Field to Delete

Locate the custom field you wish to delete and click on the three dots icon on the right.

Step 3: Initiating Deletion

From the available options, click on "Archive".

Step 4: Confirming Archival

A system warning will appear, informing you that archived fields can be restored within 90 days. After 90 days, they are deleted automatically. Click on "Yes" to confirm and proceed with the archival.

Upon confirmation, the custom field will be archived and marked for deletion.

How to Create a Label

Step 1: Access Labels

Log in to your Pabau account, navigate to the left sidebar menu, and click on Setup. From there, click on Data under the Business section and choose Labels.

Step 2: Initiating Label Creation

Click on the "Create" button located in the top right corner of the page. From the dropdown menu that appears, select whether you want to create a label for a client or lead.

Step 3: Label Details


Input the label name in the designated field and choose a color for the label by selecting from the available options.

Optionally, you can use custom colors by clicking on the plus icon. Select the desired color from the color palette or input the color's hex code in the "Hex" field.

Step 4: Confirming Label Creation

Once you've filled in the necessary details, click the "Create" button to confirm and finalize the creation of the label.


How to Edit a Label

Step 1: Access Labels

Log in to your Pabau account, navigate to the left sidebar menu, and click on Setup. From there, click on Data under the Business section and choose Labels.

 

Step 2: Selecting the Label to Edit

Locate the label you wish to edit and click on it.

Step 3: Making Changes

In the prompt that appears, make the desired changes to the label. The editing process resembles that of creating a label. Ensure you update the label name and color as needed.

Step 4: Confirming Changes

Click on "Save" to confirm and apply the modifications.

NOTE: If a label has a lock icon next to it, it indicates that it cannot be edited or deleted.

How to Delete a Label

Step 1: Accessing Labels

Locate the label you wish to delete and click on it.

Step 3: Initiating Deletion

Within the "Edit Label" menu, click on "Delete" located in the bottom right corner.

Step 4: Confirming Deletion

A prompt will appear asking if you want to remove the label. Click on "Yes, Remove the label" to confirm the deletion.

The label will be deleted from your Pabau account.

NOTE: If a label has a lock icon next to it, it indicates that it cannot be edited or deleted.

How to Assign a Label to a Client

Labels help you categorize your clients and leads. You can also use labels to send targeted campaigns.

Step 1: Navigate to the Client Card

Log in to your Pabau account and navigate to the client card of the client you want to assign a label to by using the search bar at the top of the screen. 

Step 2: Locate Labels Section

Look for the labels section right underneath the client avatar.

Assign a New Label: If your client doesn't have any labels assigned, click on "Add label" to assign a new label.

Assign an Existing Label: If your client already has a label,  hover over the existing label to reveal the plus button.

Click on the plus button and select the label you want to assign.


Create a New Label:
While assigning labels, you can also create a new one on the spot if needed.

NOTE: Ensure to choose labels that best represent the characteristics or categories you want to associate with your clients.

How to Remove a Label from a Client

Step 1: Navigate to the Client Card

Log in to your Pabau account and navigate to the client card of the client from whom you want to remove a label using the search bar at the top of the screen.

Step 2: Hover over their labels to reveal the plus button 

Click on the plus button. Labels assigned to that client will have a checkmark on their far right. Click on the label you wish to remove.

The label is now removed.
