How to add services to an existing shift

In this article, you will be able to see how you can add newly created services to your existing shifts.

Once a new service is added/created in your Pabau, if you go to Calendar, and you are unable to book it, that is because that newly created service is not added to the shifts on the days when you are trying to book.

Below you will be able to see the steps you need to take to resolve this after the service is created and you can find more details on how you can create a new service in our Creating a service / service Category article.

1. Once the service is created in your Pabau, go to your Calendar

2. Then to Tools > Schedule Manager

3. Find the shift from the staff member that you would like to book the newly added service and click on the shift

4. Click on the Services option

5. Select the newly added service and click on the Save & Close button

6. Once this is done, you will be able to book the newly added service with this staff member in your Calendar.

If your shift is part of a repeating set of shifts, once you make the changes to 1 of the shifts, the system will ask you whether you would like to update:

- Only the shift that you are currently in;

- Update the current and future shifts;

- Update ALL shifts

If you choose the option to Update This Shift, only the current shift you are In will be updated.

If you would like the same staff to be able to book the newly added service in the future, feel free to choose the Update this and future shifts option, and all future shifts of the same repeating set for the same staff member will be updated as well.

If you choose the option Update ALL Shifts, this will update all previous and future shifts only of the same repeating set of shifts.

You can find how you can create shifts, and set of repeating shifts for staff members in our Schedule Manager (Rota) article.

NOTE: When you are updating a shift, if the option above (update this shift, future shifts, or all) doesn't show up, that is because that shift is not part of any repeating set of shifts, or is the last shift of a repeating set of shifts for a certain staff member.
