How to Set Password Expiration Rules

Step 1: Accessing Business Details

To begin, log in to your Pabau account. Once logged in, navigate to the "Setup" section in the left sidebar menu. Then, click on "Business Details" located under the Business section.

Step 2: Opening the Security Tab

Within the Business Details section, open the "Security" tab. Here, you'll find various security tools that you can enable to enhance the security of your account.

Step 3: Activating Password Expiration

Click on the "Disabled" button located on the far right of the Password Expiration tool. This action will enable password expiration rules for your account.

Step 4: Configuring Password Expiration Rules

User Password Expiry Frequency:

From the "User password expires in" dropdown menu, select the frequency with which user passwords expire. This prompts users to set new passwords after the established period expires. Shorter periods enhance account security.

Enforcing Password History:

Under "Enforce password history," choose whether to prevent users from reusing passwords they've previously employed. The system disallows the use of passwords that have been utilized within the specified number of previous login attempts.

Setting Maximum Invalid Login Attempts:

Under "Maximum invalid login attempts," specify the maximum number of invalid login attempts permitted before an account is locked. Lowering this number enhances account security.

Determining Lockout Effective Period:

Under "Lockout effective period," choose the duration of the lockout period after a user reaches the maximum number of invalid login attempts. During this period, the user will be unable to attempt to log in again.

Please be aware that repeated unsuccessful login attempts from your email address will result in your account being temporarily locked for the duration specified in your security settings.

Once this time elapses, your account will automatically unlock, allowing you to attempt to log in again.
