How to Take Payments Using Tap to Pay on the Pabau GO App

Tap to Pay allows you to accept contactless payments directly on your device. With Pabau GO, you can turn your phone into a payment terminal and easily accept payments using a card or an iPhone.

Tap to Pay is a contactless payment technology that allows customers to make transactions quickly and securely by tapping their payment card, smartphone, or wearable device on a compatible payment terminal. This feature uses Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to enable a seamless exchange of payment information between the payer and the merchant.

How to Enable Tap to Pay

In this guide, we'll cover the steps to enabling the Tap to Pay feature in your Pabau account. 

To activate and use the Tap to Pay feature, you’ll need to meet the following requirements:

• Have Stripe integration activated. You enable the Stripe integration by following these steps.
• Have an iPhone with the latest iOS version installed.
• Have the Pabau GO app installed on your iPhone.

Step 1: Access the Pabau GO App

Open the Pabau GO app on your iPhone to get started. If you don’t have the app yet, you can download it here. Log in using the same credentials you use for the desktop version.

Step 2: Navigate to Menu

After logging into your account, tap the Menu icon located in the bottom-right corner. The first option you’ll see is "Tap to Pay on iPhone."

If it’s your first time activating this feature, you'll need to agree to Apple’s terms and conditions.

Step 3: Link Apple ID Account 

Once you click this option, the account linking process begins, prompting you to confirm whether to use the Apple ID currently signed in on your phone or a different Apple ID. After confirming, the process of linking your account to Tap to Pay will begin.

Once your account is successfully linked, you may need to update your device. After the update is complete, you’ll receive a notification confirming that your phone is ready to accept contactless payments.

The "Tap to Pay on iPhone" option in the Pabau app will also have an "Available" label.

By following these steps, you'll be able to accept contactless payments using the Pabau GO app.

 How to Process a Payment Using Tap to Pay

In this guide, we’ll show you how to use the Tap to Pay feature to accept payments by turning your iPhone into a payment terminal.

Step 1: Raise an Invoice

In the Pabau GO app, you can raise invoices in three ways: directly from the Calendar, from the client journey, or through the POS (Point of Sale).

Step 2: Select Payment Method 

Once you've selected the client and items, proceed to the Cart by clicking on the cart icon in the top-right corner. Then, click the "Continue" button to choose your payment method.

If you have enabled the Tap to Pay feature, the "Tap to Pay" option will appear as a payment method. Tap on it to continue.

Step 3: Tap Payment Method to iPhone

Now, hold your client's iPhone, card, or wearable near your iPhone to accept the payment.

Step 4: Confirm Payment

Once the payment is successfully processed, the Point of Sale will display the checkout completed screen, an invoice will be generated, and the payment method will be listed as Card Terminal, the same as payments processed through the terminal.
