Step 1: Enable Klarna in Stripe

Log in to your Stripe account and navigate to ''Payment Methods''. From there, enable Klarna for your account, making sure it is available for your region and supported currencies. This step ensures that Klarna is activated and ready to use in your payment processing system.

 

Klarna Availability in Pabau

Once Klarna is enabled in Stripe, it will automatically become available in your Pabau account. No additional configuration is required within Pabau. After this process is completed, Klarna will appear as a payment option wherever it is supported within Pabau, giving your clients flexible ways to complete their payments.

Please note that Klarna payments are subject to additional transaction fees, which vary by region:

  • United Kingdom: 5.99% per transaction + £0.35 (VAT applies)

  • United States: 6.99% per transaction + $0.35

When booking appointments on-site via the calendar, you may request a self-pay payment from clients.

NOTE: Klarna will only appear as a payment option if the deposit policy for the service (or package) is set to Full Amount.

This means Klarna is not available for partial deposits — it can only be used when the client is paying for the full service or package upfront.

Offering Klarna at the point of booking provides clients with a convenient, flexible payment method while ensuring your clinic receives the full payment immediately. This reduces follow-ups and streamlines the payment process for both your team and clients.

3. Collect Payments via PayLink

You can send a PayLink to clients to request payment for services or packages. When a PayLink is sent, the client receives it by email, allowing them to complete the payment at a time that suits them.

After opening the PayLink, the client is taken to a secure payment page where they can choose Klarna or another available payment method to complete the transaction.

This option is ideal for collecting payments remotely, as it gives clients flexibility while ensuring your clinic still receives the full payment upfront, with no manual follow-up required.

4. Checkout (Using Self-Pay)

During checkout, instead of taking payment immediately, you can select Self-Pay to request payment from the client.

Choosing Self-Pay generates a PayLink linked to the invoice and sends it to the client by email. The client can then open the link and complete the payment through the Client Portal.

On the payment page, Klarna will appear as a payment option, provided the full amount is due. This allows clients to pay at their convenience while your clinic still receives the full payment upfront.

This approach is useful when completing checkout in person but allowing payment to be made later, while keeping the entire payment flow tracked within Pabau.
