In this article, we will go through the steps to create different types of pricing within a service.
This feature allows you to set multiple pricing options beyond the default service price. You can use this to create special pricing for employees, adjust pricing based on clinic locations, and even configure specific deposit amounts for services.
Step 1: Navigate to Services
Log in to your Pabau account. In the left sidebar menu, go to Setup and then click on "Services" under the Services section.

Step 2: Access the Pricing Tab
Open the service and inside the service details page, navigate to the Pricing tab. Here, you must first specify whether the service is:
- Book & Sell – The service can be booked in the calendar and sold in the Point of Sale.
- Book – The service can only be booked in the calendar but cannot be sold in the Point of Sale.
- Sell – The service can only be sold in the Point of Sale and cannot be booked in the calendar.
Next, enter the service price. The currency will be based on your business settings. In this section, you can:
- Enter the service price and cost price.
- Set the duration of the service.
- Select the appropriate tax from the dropdown menu. The tax options will be based on the ones already created in your clinic. For more details on setting up taxes, refer to this article.
Step 3: Configure Special Pricing
The Special Pricing section allows you to create customized pricing for employees, locations, or contracts (such as insurance companies).
- Employee-Specific Pricing
If an employee has a different rate for performing a service, you can set a unique price for them. Select the employee from the list, enter their specific price in the Price field, and adjust the service duration if necessary. If an employee requires more or less time to complete the service than the default duration, you can modify it here.
- Location-Based Pricing
If your clinic operates in multiple locations, you can set different prices for each location. Click inside the price field for a location and enter the desired amount.
- Contract-Based Pricing
If your clinic works with third parties, such as insurance companies, you can assign different pricing structures for each of them. Select the third party from the list and input the specific price for the service. For guidance on setting up third parties, refer to this article.
Understanding Service Pricing Priorities

When staff-specific prices, location-specific prices, and original service prices are all set, then staff-specific prices will take priority and be displayed during online and manual booking.

If only location-specific prices and the original service price are set, the location-specific price will take priority during online and manual booking.

Contract prices for insurance companies will be applied at the checkout process after the appointment.
Step 4: Set Up a Deposit
Within the Deposits & Online Payments section, you can configure deposit requirements for a service. For this specific service, you can arrange the deposit, which can be different from your company's deposit policy. To do this follow the instructions in this guide.

Once you have configured all necessary pricing settings, click the "Save" button in the top-right corner.
