How to Send a Prescription to a Pharmacy (for US Clinics)

In Pabau, you can securely send prescriptions to pharmacies via fax, ensuring HIPAA compliance. Follow the steps below to seamlessly send a prescription to a pharmacy.

Step 1: Accessing the Client's Card

Begin by logging into your Pabau account. Using the search bar at the top of the screen, or by navigating through the calendar and selecting the client's name from within their appointment, open the client card of the patient for whom you created a prescription.

Step 2: Adding Pharmacy Relationship

If not already added, include the pharmacy you intend to send the prescription to as a relationship in the client's card. For detailed instructions on how to add a relationship, read this article.

Step 3: Creating the Prescription

If you haven't already done so, create a prescription by clicking on the "+" button located in the bottom right corner of the client card.

Select "Prescription" and proceed to choose your prescription form template. Enter the medications to be prescribed and sign the prescription. Finally, click on "Save Form" to complete the prescription creation process.

Step 4: Accessing the Prescription

Return to the client card. The prescription will be stored in the Chart section under the Prescriptions sub-tab. Click on the prescription you wish to send to the pharmacy to proceed.

Step 5: Sending the Prescription

Upon opening the selected prescription, locate the "eRx" button.

Click on it to open the email composition menu. The prescription will be automatically attached as a PDF. Review the details, then click on "Send". The email containing the prescription will be delivered to the pharmacy via fax.
