[Security settings](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/calendar?hsLang=en#security-settings) # How to Lock and Unlock Your Calendar Screen ## In this guide, we'll show you how to lock and unlock the calendar screen in Pabau. Locking the calendar hides it behind a full-screen lock until someone enters a valid passcode. It keeps appointment and client details private on a shared reception computer, and it makes handovers between staff quick: lock the screen when you step away, and the next person unlocks it with their own passcode. **NOTE:** You need a 4-digit Pabau passcode to lock and unlock the calendar. Until you have one, the lock button is greyed out and its tooltip asks you to set one up in your Account Settings. Open the **Calendar** and click the padlock button at the top right, beside the cog. The shortcut works anywhere on the calendar page, as long as you are not typing in a field. **Step 2: Unlock With Your Passcode** The lock covers the whole of Pabau. It shows the time and date, your name and photo, and **Enter your passcode to unlock the calendar**. It can't be closed by pressing Escape or clicking away; only a passcode opens it. 1. Type your 4-digit passcode. There's no button to press: Pabau checks the code as soon as you type the fourth digit. If it's wrong, an error appears under the boxes and they clear so you can try again. 2. Forgotten your passcode, or never set one? Who can unlock it depends on the **Accept last user’s passcode only** setting (see Step 5): - **Off:** any staff member can type their own passcode. If it's someone else's passcode, Pabau signs the previous person out and signs the new person in, so the calendar is now theirs. - **On:** only the passcode of the staff member who was signed in when the calendar locked is accepted. Anyone else's passcode is refused with the same error as a wrong code. **IMPORTANT:** After five wrong passcodes within 15 minutes, the lock screen stops accepting other people's passcodes for a while. The signed-in staff member's own passcode still unlocks it. **Step 4: Open Calendar Settings** You can also make the calendar lock itself when nobody is using it. 1. In the **Calendar**, click the cog at the top right. 2. Choose **Settings**. Under **Auto lock**, choose how long the calendar can sit unused before it locks: **1 minute**, **2 minutes**, **5 minutes**, **10 minutes** or **2 hours**. Choose **Disabled** to turn automatic locking off. 2. Tick **Accept last user’s passcode only** if only the signed-in staff member should be able to unlock it (Step 3 explains both options). 3.
