In this article, we'll guide you through the process of creating tax groups in Pabau.
Tax groups allow you to combine multiple individual tax rates into a single, easy-to-apply category.
This feature ensures that you can manage complex tax requirements such as VAT, GST, or other region-specific taxes while keeping billing accurate and compliant.
Step 1: Navigate to the Taxes Page
Log into your Pabau account and go to the Setup section in the left sidebar menu. Under the Financials section, click on "Taxes" to open the Taxes page.
Step 2: Create Individual Tax Rates
Before creating a tax group, you need to have individual tax rates set up.
On the Taxes page, click on "New Tax Rate" to start creating a tax rate. Provide a name for the tax and enter the tax amount as a percentage. Once done, click "Create" to save the tax rate.
Repeat this process to create all the individual tax rates you need for your tax group.
Step 3: Create a New Tax Group
After creating the individual tax rates, click on "New Tax Group" in the top right corner of the Taxes page.
Enter a name for the tax group and, in the Tax 1 and Tax 2 fields, select the individual tax rates that should be included in this group. Once you've selected the relevant tax rates, click "Create" to finalize the tax group.
Step 4: Link the Tax Group to Services, Products, and Packages
Now that your tax group is created, you can link it to the relevant services, products, and packages by following the appropriate steps outlined in these articles:
Additionally, you can apply the tax group when processing items in the Point of Sale.
Important Notes:
- You can edit or deactivate an individual tax rate that is part of a tax group, however, you cannot delete an individual tax rate that is part of a tax group.
- If you edit an individual tax rate within a group and change its percentage, the total percentage of the tax group will automatically update, including the value field for the group.
- Any edits to tax rates will only apply to newly generated invoices (those created after the edit). They will not apply to past invoices where the original tax rate was used.
By following these steps, you can efficiently create tax groups and apply them to your services, ensuring accurate tax calculations for your business.
