This guide walks you through the process of creating a service category in Pabau. Service categories are instrumental in organizing and grouping similar services, providing a more streamlined approach to service management.
It’s important to be aware of the service categorization within Pabau. The hierarchy begins with service groups, followed by categories, and finally, individual services.
Example:
- Service group: Injectables
- Category: Botox
- Service: Botox Consultation
Step 1: Navigate to Services
Log in to your Pabau account, and in the left sidebar menu, go to Setup, then click on the "Services" button under "Services".
Step 2: Access the Categories Tab
Once in the "Services" section, switch to the "Categories" tab. Click on "New Category" located in the top right corner of the page.
Step 3: Input Category Details
In the newly opened category creation page, input the necessary details:
- Name: Specify the name of the service category. This name will be displayed in the point of sale terminal and online booking portal.
- Default Appointment Colour: Choose a color that will be associated with all appointments related to services within this category. This however can be overwritten on a service basis when creating a new service or editing an existing one.
- Image: Upload an image that will be visible in the Point of Sale and your Online Booking portal. You can either upload from your device or choose from the library.
Step 4: Enable the Active Toggle and Create
Ensure the "Active" toggle is enabled to make the category active, and then click on "Create."
NOTE: To add a service to a category, this action must be performed through the service itself, either during creation or by editing an existing service.
