How to Create a New Referral

This article explains how to create and send a professional referral letter in Pabau.

Step 1: Navigate to Clients

Start by logging into your Pabau account using your login credentials. Then, navigate to the left sidebar menu and click the "Clients" tab to expand it. It will reveal the "Referral" tab. 

Step 2: Create a New Referral

To create a new referral, navigate to the top right corner and click the "Create Referral" button. This will open a referral form where you can enter all the details needed to send the referral.

Step 3: Fill in the Referral Details

You'll now see a form where you must first insert the client using the search bar.

Below that, complete the remaining required fields:

• From: Your name and clinic email (auto-filled)

• To: Enter the recipient’s name, email, and phone number

Step 4: Insert Instructions

On the right hand-side, you'll view the following options:

• Instructions: Add any relevant clinical instructions or notes

• Insert Letter: You can also insert a letter using the Insert Letter button on the top right corner if your clinic uses templates

• Reason for referral: Briefly explain why you are referring the client

• Referral Summary: Toggle which client data to include (e.g., medications, past appointments, photos, notes)

Step 5: Choose How to Finalize the Referral

Once all the fields are completed, you can:

• Preview the referral using the button in the top right corner

• Save it for later by clicking "Save"

• Send it immediately by clicking "Send"

By clicking "Send," the referral will be sent via email to the contact you specified in the “To” section, and a copy will be saved under the client’s profile.
