How to Create a Commission Sheet

In this article, we'll guide you through creating a new commission sheet using the Commissions feature in Pabau.

The Commissions feature allows you to accurately calculate and allocate commissions to staff members based on the items they sell, offering flexibility to set up various commission structures and customize how commissions are awarded.

To begin, log into your Pabau account and navigate to the left sidebar menu. Click on "Team," then select "Commissions".

This will take you to the Commission Sheets listing page, where you can click on "New Commission" in the top right corner to start creating a new commission sheet.

The commission sheet displays the commission amounts for sold items, including services, products, packages, and gift vouchers. It also lets you assign staff members to each commission sheet.

The modal that appears is divided into two main tabs: Commissions and Users. Before proceeding to setting up the commission sheet settings, start by adding a name for the sheet at the top of the page.

1. Commissions Tab

This tab is divided into subtabs for each item type: services, products, packages, and gift vouchers. Here’s how to set up your commission structure:

  • Active/Inactive Toggle: Decide if the commission sheet will apply to the selected item type. If active, staff members can be awarded commissions based on this sheet when they sell an item belonging to the selected type.

  • Default Commission Type: Choose between a fixed price, percentage, or tiered commission structure. Only one type can be applied per item category (e.g., services or products). For instance, you might set services to a percentage rate and products to a flat rate.

  • Default Rate: This field becomes mandatory if you select "Fixed" as the commission type. Define the commission as a percentage or a fixed amount, which will be auto-applied to all items in that category.

NOTE: For detailed instructions on setting up fixed commissions, refer to this guide.

  • Pay Commission On: This option is specific to packages. You can choose to pay the commission when a package is either purchased or redeemed.

  • Tiered Commissions: If you select a tiered commission structure, set up the rate type, the sales period (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly) and define the commission rates for each tier. Staff members will earn commissions based on the sales volume they achieve within the defined period.

NOTE: For detailed instructions on setting up tiered commissions, refer to this guide.

2. Users Tab

By default, all users are added to the No Commission sheet, which serves as a placeholder for staff members not included in other commission sheets. This sheet doesn't have any commissions assigned to it and cannot be edited.

When you create a new commission sheet, no staff members are automatically selected. To apply the commission settings, you’ll need to manually choose at least one staff member from the list displayed in the Users tab.

The Users tab shows all active staff members. However, only those who aren’t part of another commission sheet are eligible for selection.

If a staff member is already assigned to another commission sheet (other than the No Commission sheet), their name will not be displayed in the list.

To complete the creation of the commission sheet, click on "Create" in the top right corner.

Important Considerations

  • No Retroactive Changes: Editing or deleting a commission sheet will not affect past records. You will always see the commission details as they were at the time, including the commission amount, the name of the commission sheet, and how the commission was awarded.

  • Changes Apply to Future Invoices: Any updates to the commission feature will only apply to invoices generated after the change has been made. Past invoices will remain unaffected.

  • Default Group Restrictions: The default group (No Commission) cannot be edited or deleted. This group serves as a placeholder for staff members not assigned to any other commission sheets.

By following these steps, you'll ensure that your staff members are accurately rewarded for their contributions, helping to maintain motivation and drive success in your business.
