Why a Section Is Missing from Your Sidebar
In this article, you will learn the three reasons a section can be absent from your sidebar, and how to check each one in order.
NOTE: The redesigned Home page and sidebar are being rolled out gradually. If your Pabau looks different from the screenshots below, your clinic has not been moved across yet - your existing Home page and menu continue to work exactly as before.
A section appears in your sidebar only when all three of the following are true. Working through them in this order will identify the cause every time.
1. Is it in your More menu?
The quickest thing to rule out. Click More in the sidebar and look for the section there. Sections moved into the More menu are still fully available — they are simply one click away. To bring it back onto the sidebar, follow How to Customize Your Sidebar.
A small number of less frequently used areas start life in the More menu for everyone, so a section you have never moved yourself may still be there.
2. Do you have permission to use it?
Every section in the sidebar is governed by a permission on your staff record. If you do not hold it, the section is not shown at all rather than shown and greyed out.
An administrator can check this at Team → People → [staff member] → Permissions. Permissions follow the pattern Can access <section> page — for example Can access calendar page for Calendar.
NOTE: A few sections are governed by a differently named permission. Analytics uses Can access reports page, and Money and Stock appear if you hold the permission for any one of the areas inside them.
3. Has your clinic switched the feature on?
Some areas of Pabau — Memberships, Prescriptions, Insurance Billing, Labs and others — are optional features that each clinic enables for itself. If the feature is off, nobody in the clinic sees its sections, regardless of their permissions.
An administrator can check this at Setup → Business details → Features, or from the sidebar as described in Managing Clinic Features from the Sidebar.
Still missing?
