[New Client Card](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/new-client-card?hsLang=en) # Understanding the Items Tab on the Client Card ## In this article, we'll guide you through how to navigate and understand the Items tab in the client's financials. This tab lists every individual item ever sold to the client, allowing you to review their full purchase history in one place. While the Invoices tab shows the client’s billing at the invoice level, the Items tab breaks it down to the individual items sold — useful when you need to check whether a client has purchased a specific service, product, or package, without opening each invoice. #### Step 1: Navigate to the Items Tab Log in to your Pabau account and open the client card of the client whose purchase history you want to review. ![search-client-packages](https://support.pabau.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Services%20and%20Packages%20category/search-client-packages.png?width=639&height=249&name=search-client-packages.png) At the top of the client card, click on the **Financials** tab, then select the **Items** sub-tab. If you cannot see it, ask an administrator to check your visibility group settings. #### Step 2: Understanding the Items Overview The Items tab lists everything sold to the client, with the most recent items at the top. The list shows 50 items per page — use the page numbers at the bottom to move through a longer purchase history. Here’s a breakdown of the key elements on the page: #### **Type Filters and Search** Use the filter chips at the top of the list to display only items of a specific type: - **All** – Displays every item sold to the client. - **Service** – Displays only services, such as treatments and consultations. - **Package** – Displays only packages. - **Product** – Displays only retail products. - **Membership** – Displays only memberships. - **Gift Card** – Displays only gift cards. To find a specific item, use the search bar in the top-right corner to search by any keyword. Type at least three characters to start the search. ![items-tab-filters](https://support.pabau.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Clients%20category/items-tab-filters.jpg?width=670&height=243&name=items-tab-filters.jpg) #### **What Each Column Means** - **Invoice #** – The date of the sale and the invoice number the item belongs to. - **Item Name** – The name of the service, product, or other item sold. - **Type** – The item type, such as Service or Product. - **Employee** – The team member who provided the service or made the sale. - **Issued By** – The team member who issued the invoice. - **Quantity** – The number of units sold. - **Total** – The total charged for the item. Clicking any row opens the invoice that the item belongs to, so you can review or edit the full sale without leaving the tab. #### **Totals Summary** In the bottom-right corner of the page, you can see a running summary showing the total number of items and the total sales value for the client. The summary updates based on the type filter you have selected, so you can see totals per item type as well. ![total ITEMS sales client card](https://support.pabau.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Clients%20category/total%20ITEMS%20sales%20client%20card.jpg?width=525&height=321&name=total%20ITEMS%20sales%20client%20card.jpg) **Tips for Getting the Most Out of the Items Tab** - **Filter by “Product” to support retail conversations** – See at a glance which products the client has bought before recommending a repurchase. - **Search by item name to confirm a past purchase** – If a client asks whether they already bought a specific product or service, search for it here instead of scanning invoices. - **Use the totals to gauge client value** – The total sales figure gives you a quick view of the client’s overall spend with your clinic. By using these filters and columns, you can trace any item a client has purchased and answer purchase-related questions in seconds. #### **Where Does a Gift Card Bought Online Appear?** A gift card bought on your online booking site is recorded in two places: - **The sale** — on the buyer’s client card. The invoice is raised against the buyer, so it shows in **Financials** under **Invoices**, and the card shows in **Items** (use the **Gift Card** filter). It is also included in your sales reports. - **The gift card itself** — in the **Gift Cards** section of the client card of whoever it is for: - If the buyer chose to have it emailed to themselves, it is on the buyer’s client card. - If it was bought for someone else and their email address matches a client you already have, it is on that client’s card. - If it was bought for someone else who is not yet one of your clients, it is emailed to them but is not added to any client card, including the buyer’s. Pabau does not create a new client for them. **NOTE:** This is why a gift card can appear in your reports and on the buyer’s **Items** tab but not in the buyer’s **Gift Cards** section — it belongs to the person it was bought for. --- Was this guide helpful?
