[Pabau Account Optimization](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/pabau-account-optimization?hsLang=en) # How to Use the Getting Started Journey to Set Up Your Clinic **Getting started** is your clinic’s setup checklist, organised as a journey through five stages, from opening day to running a multi-practitioner clinic. Pabau checks your account for you and ticks tasks off as they’re done, so you can always see what’s next and jump straight to the right setting. **NOTE:** In a new clinic’s first 90 days, **Home** in the sidebar opens Getting started. During the first two weeks, administrators are also taken there automatically when they log in. After that, or once someone closes onboarding mode, **Home** opens your dashboard. **Step 1: See Your Progress** The top of the page, **Your clinic journey**, shows the next stage you’re working towards, how far through the journey you are (for example **30 of 42 tasks**) and the stage you’re currently on. 1. Choose how to see the stages: **Cards** (one card per stage, side by side) or **List** (one stage under another). 2. Click **Continue** to open the next task Pabau suggests, for example **Continue: Activate Pabau Pay**. ![The Getting started page with the Cards and List view switch and the Continue button marked](https://support.pabau.com/hubfs/Pabau%202%20Knowledge%20Base/kb/gap-2026-10/490355150022-01-hero.png) *Your clinic journey at a glance* **Step 2: Work Through the Five Stages** Tasks are grouped into five stages, each with its own goal: - **Starter**: open for business (clinic details, logo, hours, services, staff, payments). - **Established**: calendar and clients (importing clients, online booking, reminders). - **Trusted**: get paid, stay compliant (memberships, cancellation and deposit policies, confirmations, workflows). - **Authority**: grow your patient base (campaigns, loyalty, reviews). - **Industry Leader**: scale your clinic (patients, forms, prescriptions and appointments at volume). 1. The bar of stages shows how many tasks are done in each one. Click a stage to jump to it. 2. Click any task to open it. The **Auto-detected** tag means Pabau tracks the task for you and ticks it off once it’s done in your account. You don’t need to mark it yourself. 2. **In Pabau** shows where the task lives, and **What Pabau checks for** lists exactly what counts as done. 3.
