In this article, we’ll cover how to track commissions awarded to staff in Pabau.
The Commissions feature helps you accurately calculate and allocate commissions to staff members based on the items they sell.
Keeping an eye on commissions ensures fair and accurate payouts while helping you analyze sales performance. Whether you need to verify individual commissions, track refunds, or review overall earnings, Pabau provides multiple ways to monitor commission activity.
Commissions can be tracked in three key places:
- Invoice Commission Summary
- Commission Activity Report
- Team Report
To track commissions, follow these steps:
Step 1: Check the Invoice Commission Summary
For each invoice where a commission was awarded, you can view a detailed breakdown in the Commission Summary within the invoice modal.
How to Access It:
- Open the client card of the relevant client.
- Click on the Financials tab.
- Select the invoice number to open the invoice.
Alternatively, you can navigate to Money in the left sidebar menu, click on Invoices to open the invoices page, and click on the invoice number to open it.
In the Commission Summary, you can see:
- Who received the commission.
- Details like taxes, costs, and discounts deducted, depending on your settings for the specific item category and the commission sheet the commission was awarded for.
- The commission type and the item category.
- The specific item for which the commission was awarded.

Editing or Removing a Commission:
- Click the pencil icon to edit the commission amount.
- Click the "X" icon to remove a commission entry.
- To manually add a commission, select "Add Commission" and enter the details manually.
Step 2: Run the Commissions Activity Report
The Commissions Activity Report provides a full list of all commission entries, including positive entries for awarded commissions and negative entries from refunded invoices or voided credit notes.
To access the Commissions Activity Report, go to Analytics in the left sidebar menu, then select Reports and navigate to the Sales section.
Click on Commissions Activity Report to open the report.
The standard report displays line items where commissions exceed $0.01 (or your currency) and includes invoices with an invoice date from the current month.
Below the filters, you'll find a visual representation of the report's data, which you can customize by adjusting how the data is segmented. By default, it's grouped by Item Employee (the staff members who received commissions).
Like any standard report, you can modify existing filters or add new ones to tailor the data to your needs. For example, you can adjust the reporting period to view commissions over a longer or shorter timeframe.
In the report table, you'll find a detailed list of all commission entries, including any negative entries from refunded invoices or voided credit notes that affected commission payouts.
You can also create custom versions of this report for individual staff members. To do this, apply a filter such as "Line Item where Item Employee is [staff member name]".
Once customized, you can save the report by clicking "Save As", naming it, and selecting who else can access it.

Step 3: Review the Team Report
To access the Team report, go to Analytics in the left sidebar menu, then select Team Report.
The Team Report, alongside other staff-related data such as performance and KPIs, provides a detailed breakdown of commissions earned by each staff member, organized by item category.
