How to Set What a Gift Card Can Be Redeemed Against (New)

When creating or editing a gift card, the Redeemable for section lets you decide exactly what the card covers. You can keep it open for anything you offer, or restrict it to specific services, products, or packages - useful for cards tied to a particular treatment or promotion.

Step 1: Open the Redeemable For Section

While creating or editing a gift card, scroll to the Redeemable for section on the Basics step. You'll see three categories: services, products, and packages.

Step 2:  Review the Default Setting 

Each category defaults to All, meaning the card can be redeemed against everything within that category. Leaving all three set to All gives the recipient maximum flexibility.

Step 3: Restrict a Category to Specific Items

To limit what the card covers, click the edit icon on any category. A selection screen opens where you can choose the specific items to include. Select the ones you want, then confirm your choice - the row updates to show how many you've picked (e.g., "2 services selected").

Step 4: Save Your Selection

Once you've chosen the items for a category, click the Add Button at the bottom of the screen to apply your selection and return to the Redeemable for section.

Step 4: Exclude a Category Entirely

To stop the card being used against a whole category, click the edit icon on that category to open the selection screen, then click "Clear selection" in the top-right corner to deselect everything. Confirm, and the card will no longer be redeemable against that item type. 

By setting these three categories, you control exactly where a gift card can be spent - from an open card that works on anything, to one valid only for a single service.
