How to Set Up Pabau Pay Card Terminal

The Pabau Pay card terminal links directly to your Pabau account, making payment processing in your clinic quick and easy. This integration updates your client records instantly, simplifying your financial management.


How to Request the Pabau Pay Card Terminal

Step 1: Accessing Payment Processing Setup

Start by logging into your Pabau account, navigate to the Setup section, and select Card Terminals under Financials.

Step 2: Integrating with Stripe (if necessary)

If you haven't already integrated your Pabau account with Stripe, ensure you do so by following the steps outlined in this article.

If you've recently switched from Pabau Classic to Pabau 2, you must disconnect your existing Stripe integration and reconnect it using the steps outlined here. This is necessary because Pabau 2 utilizes a different connection method with Stripe.

The Pabau Pay terminal will not work unless you reconnect.

Step 3: Requesting the Card Terminal


Go back to Card Terminals in the Setup section and click on the "Card Terminals" tab on the left, then click on "Request Terminal" on the right.

Step 4: Providing Required Information

Fill out the required information in the provided fields and click on "Send request" to submit your request for the card terminal.

Step 5: Await Delivery Details

Expect to receive details regarding the delivery of your terminal shortly after submitting the request.

By following these steps, you can successfully request the Pabau Pay card terminal, facilitating efficient payment processing within your Pabau account.


How to Register the Pabau Pay Card Terminal

This article provides step-by-step instructions for registering the Pabau Pay card terminal, an essential process for enabling seamless payment processing within your clinic through your Pabau account.

Step 1: Turn the Reader On and Off

Installing the Battery:

When you first receive the device, install the battery. With the back of the device facing you, lift up from the indentation at the bottom left corner to detach the back cover. Insert the battery by sliding it into the exposed slot with the gold connectors at the top aligned.

Charging the Reader:

After the battery is in place, charge the reader. Use an outlet or the optional Ethernet dock. Connect the reader to power by plugging the provided cable into the port with the lightning bolt symbol.


Powering On:

After the reader is fully charged, hold down the power button on the right-hand side until the screen turns on. Once the device powers on, press the power button to sleep or wake the device.

Powering Off:

To fully power off the device, hold down the power button until the power-off option is shown on the screen. Select the power-off option to turn the device off completely.

Countertop Deployment:

In a countertop deployment, leaving the device on for extended periods is expected. With a full charge, expect the battery to last about eight hours.

NOTE: Even when it’s not in use, leave the BBPOS WisePOS E plugged in and powered on to receive automatic software updates.

Step 2: Accessing Card Terminal Setup


Begin by logging into your Pabau account. Navigate to the Setup section and select Card Terminals under Financials. Then, click on the "Card Terminal" tab on the left.

 

NOTE: If you're a Mac user, you will need to first update your DNS settings. To update DNS settings on your Mac, first disable your firewall, update your DNS settings, and then turn the firewall on again. 

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click Network in the sidebar, then click Firewall. Turn on Firewall.

To specify additional security settings, click Options, turn settings on or off, then click OK.

Afterward, use DNS network settings to enter DNS servers and search domains. 

To change these settings, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, click Network in the sidebar, click a network service on the right, click Details, then click DNS. 

Click the Add button (+) at the bottom of the DNS servers list, then enter the following address:

1.1.1.1

Click on OK to save the changes.

Once that's done, you can go back to firewall settings and turn your firewall back on.

Step 3: Registering the Terminal

To register the terminal, choose the location where it will be used from the available options. Then, enter the terminal code obtained by following the steps below.

Step 4: Obtaining the Terminal Code


To obtain the terminal code, follow these steps:

  • Swipe right on the "Stripe" screen of the terminal.

  • Tap on "Settings" and enter the admin PIN by typing the key sequence 0-7-1-3-9.

  • In the Admin options menu, select "Generate pairing code."

  • The terminal will generate a code; enter this code into the "Terminal Code" field in Pabau.
  • Optionally, add a label for the terminal to indicate its location within your clinic.

NOTE: Processing payments at the Point of Sale will be restricted to the terminal's registered location.

Step 5: Completing the Registration

Click on "Register" to finalize the registration process. If you have more than one terminal, repeat the registration process for each additional terminal.

Step 6: Confirmation

Upon successful registration, your Pabau Pay card terminal will be connected and displayed in the "Card Terminals" section of the Card Terminals feature in your Pabau account.

NOTE: Keep in mind that for the terminal to function properly, it must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the laptop used for processing payments.


By following these steps, you can successfully register the Pabau Pay card terminal and begin processing payments efficiently and effectively within your clinic.

How to Enable and Access the Wallet

This article provides step-by-step instructions on enabling Wallet permission for designated users.

After setting up your Pabau Pay card terminals, managers and/or owners at your clinic must have access to the Wallet feature to manage payouts efficiently. 

Step 1: Accessing Team Settings

To begin, log into your Pabau account and navigate to the Team feature located in the left sidebar menu. Then, select Team again to access the list of team members.

 

 

Step 2: Selecting User Profile

Identify the profile of the user who requires Wallet permission and click on their profile to access their settings.

Within the user's profile, navigate to the "Permissions" tab located on the left side of the screen. Here, you'll find various groups of permissions.

Step 3: Enabling Wallet Permission

Expand the "Money" group of permissions and locate the "Can access wallet" permission. Toggle this permission to the "on" position to enable access to the Wallet feature.

Step 5: Saving Changes

Once you've enabled the Wallet permission, ensure to save the changes by clicking on the "Save Changes" button located in the top right corner of the screen.

Step 6: Accessing the Wallet

To access the Wallet feature, users can click on the Wallet icon located in the top right corner of the screen, adjacent to their avatar.

By following these steps, you can successfully enable Wallet permission for designated users in your Pabau account, allowing them to manage payouts effectively.
