# How to Set Up the New Client Portal

## In this article, you will learn how to choose what your clients can see and do in the new client portal, match it to your brand, add an announcement and your policies, and share links to it.

**NOTE:** The new Online Bookings and Client Portal are being rolled out to clinics in phases. If **Setup → Online Bookings** does not show the **Overview**, **Share** and **Add to website** tabs described here, your account is still on the classic version — see [Online Bookings](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/online-bookings?hsLang=en) and [Client Portal](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/client-portal?hsLang=en) instead.

#### **Step 1: Open Client Portal Settings**

Go to **Setup → Client Portal**. At the top you will see **Open portal**, **Copy portal link** and **Links**, and **Portal activity** — registrations, active users and registrations by month. The settings are on four tabs: **Essentials**, **Appearance**, **Content** and **Share**.

#### **Step 2: Choose the Features Clients See**

On **Essentials**, each feature has a card showing whether it is **Enabled** or **Disabled**. The preview on the right shows the client’s menu, and updates as you switch features on and off.

| Group | Features |
| --- | --- |
| **My Account** | Dashboard (always on), Loyalty, Packages, Memberships, Vouchers, Payments, Billing details, Insurance details, Family |
| **Clinical records** | Appointments, Treatment plans, Documents, Forms, Photos, GP details, Lab results, Prescriptions, Communications, Medical history, Medications, Allergies, Secure messages |

Click a card to see **What the patient sees**, switch the feature on or off under **Status**, and copy its **Page link**. Some cards have **Feature settings** — for example, **Appointments** lets you choose whether clients can cancel or reschedule (see [Part 4](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/new-online-bookings-part-4-take-payments-and-deposits-online?hsLang=en)).

**NOTE:** Some features depend on others: **Billing details** and **Insurance details** need **Payments** turned on; **Insurance details** also needs insurance billing for your clinic; **Medications** and **Allergies** need **Medical history**; and **Secure messages** needs Pabau Engage with the Secure Chat channel.

At the bottom of the tab, **Hold time at checkout** sets how long a slot is held while a client pays.

#### **Step 3: Match the Portal to Your Brand**

On **Appearance**, choose a **Palette** (shared with your booking page, so both look the same), a **Heading font** and a **Welcome message** for the top of the client’s dashboard. The portal uses your clinic logo from your business details. Click **Save appearance**.

#### **Step 4: Add an Announcement and Your Policies**

On **Content**:

- **Announcement** — a short notice at the top of every client’s dashboard, such as holiday opening hours. Turn on **Show on the dashboard** to display it.
- **Policies** — your Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy, shown in the footer of your booking page and portal. Link to the policy on your own website or write it here. If you do both, the link is used; if you leave both empty, that footer link is hidden.

Click **Save content**.

#### **Step 5: Share the Portal**

On **Share**, copy your **Portal link** or **Download QR code** for reception, treatment rooms or aftercare leaflets. Under **Page links** you can copy a direct link to any portal page — useful in emails and SMS.

**How do clients sign in?**

Clients enter their email address and receive a six-digit code — no password needed. If they are new, their account is created automatically.
