How to Set Up BBPOS WisePad 3

In this article, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know to set up and use the BBPOS WisePad 3 with Pabau Pay.

The WisePad 3 is a compact, handheld reader perfect for mobile or on-the-go payments in your clinic.

NOTE: The BBPOS WisePad 3 is not waterproof. If it gets wet, let it dry completely before charging or using it again. If it still doesn’t operate properly after drying, it will need replacing.

How to Turn the Reader On & Off

Turning On

  • Press and hold the power button on the top-right corner of the keypad.

  • The screen will light up and show the startup screen.

Turning Off

  • Press and hold the power button again.

  • A “Power off?” message will appear.

  • Press the green Enter button to confirm.

Auto-Sleep

  • The display dims after a few seconds of inactivity.

  • If inactive and disconnected for 5 minutes, the reader will beep and power off automatically.

Charging the WisePad 3

To charge the reader, use:

  • The included USB cable, or

  • Any USB-A to USB-C cable

Battery expectations:

  • Typically needs charging once per day

  • Approximately 600 chip or 800 contactless transactions per full charge

How to Change the Reader Language

You can change the display language directly on the reader.

To update the language:

  1. Press the Power/Settings button.

  2. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the menu.

  3. Find the Language option.

  4. Highlight your preferred language.

  5. Press the green Enter button to confirm.

Based on the region your reader is assigned to, it will automatically install the correct language pack once connected to a registered Pabau Location.
