For an insurer you bill by email, Pabau sends the invoice PDF to the insurer's claims address straight from the claim, marks the claim **Submitted** and keeps a record of every email. When the insurer is slow to pay, you can send the same claim again to chase them. **NOTE:** Billing by email is for clinics that don't send their claims through Healthcode. If your clinic submits claims through Healthcode, the email buttons in this guide don't appear. If your clinic uses Claim.MD or Tyro Health, the email option appears only for insurers that have an email address saved, and the rest keep going through your clearinghouse. **Step 1: Add the Insurer's Claims Email Address** Pabau always sends to the email address saved on the insurer, so add it once before you bill. 1. Go to **Setup → Third Parties** and click the insurer. 2. On the **General** tab, enter the insurer's claims address in **Email**. 3. Go to **More → Claims**. 2. Add one as in Step 1, then open the claim again. **Step 4: Check the Email and Send It** The **Submit Claim** screen opens. Along the top, a progress line shows the claim's journey from Pabau to the insurer and back to your clinic. 1. Check the **Invoice Preview**. This is the PDF the insurer receives. 2. Check the email: - **To** is the insurer's email address. You can't change it here: it always comes from the insurer's record, so update it in **Setup → Third Parties** if it's wrong. - **Subject** starts as **Request for Payment – Invoice #** and the invoice number. You can change it. - **Template** is the invoice template used for the PDF. Pabau picks your default; choose another and the preview updates. - The message is ready to go, addressed to the claims department and referring to the invoice number and date. Edit it if you need to. 3. The claim moves to **Submitted**, and the send is listed under **Email History** at the bottom of the screen with its time and the action **Invoice emailed to insurer**. Until then the table reads **This claim hasn't been emailed yet.** **NOTE:** The email goes to the insurer, not your client, so it isn't added to the client's Communications. The insurer replies outside Pabau, so a claim billed by email doesn't update itself: when the insurer pays, record the payment as usual, for example with a remittance. **Step 5: Chase a Claim the Insurer Hasn't Paid** Once a claim has been sent, or if it has come back needing action, the bar changes to **This claim was emailed to the insurer. Send it again to chase them.** 1. Open the claim from **More → Claims** with **View**. 2. Click **Chase by email**. 3.
