[Setting up the Pabau Pay Card Terminal](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/card-terminals?hsLang=en#setting-up-the-pabau-pay-card-terminal) # How to Register the Pabau Pay Card Terminal ## This article provides step-by-step instructions for registering the Pabau Pay card terminal, an essential process for enabling seamless payment processing within your clinic through your Pabau account. #### **Step 1: Turn the Reader On and Off** **Installing the Battery:** When you first receive the BBPOS WisePOS E terminal, install the battery. With the back of the device facing you, lift up from the indentation at the bottom left corner to detach the back cover. Insert the battery by sliding it into the exposed slot with the gold connectors at the top aligned. **Charging the Reader:** After the battery is in place, charge the reader. Use an outlet or the optional Ethernet dock. Once the device powers on, press the power button to sleep or wake the device. **Powering Off:** To fully power off the device, hold down the power button until the power-off option is shown on the screen. Select the power-off option to turn the device off completely. **Countertop Deployment:** In a countertop deployment, leaving the device on for extended periods is expected. With a full charge, expect the battery to last about eight hours. **NOTE:** Even when it’s not in use, leave the BBPOS WisePOS E plugged in and powered on to receive automatic software updates. #### **Step 2: Accessing Card Terminal Setup** Begin by [logging into your Pabau account](https://app.pabau.com/). Navigate to the [Setup](https://app.pabau.com/setup) section and select Card Terminals under Financials. If you have more than one terminal, repeat the registration process for each additional terminal. #### **Step 6: Check if the Integration is Successful** Upon successful registration, your Pabau Pay card terminal will be connected and displayed in the "Card Terminals" section of the Card Terminals feature in your Pabau account. When you click **Register**, the reader is paired to your Pabau Pay (Stripe) account and saved to your **Card Terminals** list. What the reader must meet: - It must be one of the two models in the registration wizard: **BBPOS WisePOS E** or **Stripe Reader S700 / S710** (the wizard asks "Which terminal are you setting up?"). - It must not be registered to another Stripe account. If it is, you'll see: "This terminal is already registered. Remove it from its current account before registering it here." - The pairing code must be fresh. If it isn't recognised, generate a new code on the reader and enter it again. **NOTE:** Pabau supplies compatible card readers. If you'd like to use a reader you've bought elsewhere, please check with your account manager before buying.
