How to Port Your Phone Number to Pabau

You do not have to change your clinic’s phone number to use Engage — you can bring it with you. Porting moves your existing number from its current provider to Pabau, keeping the number your clients already know. This article covers the request itself.

Step 1: Prepare the Paperwork

Porting is a carrier-to-carrier transfer, so the details must match what your current provider has on file exactly:

  • The number you are porting.
  • Your current provider and account details.
  • The business name and address on the account — exactly as the losing provider holds them.
  • A recent bill or proof of ownership, if requested.

Step 2: Submit the Request

Click the Settings cog in the icon rail, choose Calls, and click Port a number (the same option exists on the Fax panel for fax numbers). Enter the details and submit.

The Calls channel settings in Engage with the Port a number button next to Buy a number.

IMPORTANT: Do not cancel the contract with your current provider before the port completes — a cancelled number cannot be ported.

Step 3: What Happens Next

The request moves through carrier statuses, may require an e-signature, and completes on an activation date — your number keeps working with the old provider until the switch moment. See our After You Request a Phone Port: Statuses, E-Sign and Activation article for the full journey, and our Tracking or Withdrawing a Port Request article if plans change.
