How to Move a Document to a Folder (New Client Card)

This article covers moving files to a folder in the client card.

This article covers the new Client Card, available to selected clinics from August 2026. If your Client Card looks different, see the How to Move a Document to a Folder (Classic) guide instead.

Step 1: Navigate to the Client Card

Start by logging in to your Pabau account, then use the search bar at the top of the screen to find the client — type at least three letters of their name and Pabau will filter the results as you type.

Step 2: Open the Documents Section

Click the "EMR" tab (labelled "Chart" for US businesses), then click the "Documents" card.

Step 3: Move a Document to a Folder

Locate the document you want to move and click the three-dot menu on the far right of its row, then select "Move to".

A "Move to folder" window appears, listing your existing folders. Click a folder to move the document into it. To create a new folder and move the document there in one step, type a name in the "New folder" field and click "Create & move".

The document moves straight away and a confirmation appears.

To move several documents at once, tick the checkbox next to each one, then click "Move to folder" in the action bar that appears at the bottom of the screen. To move a document out of a folder, open the folder, select "Move to", and choose "Documents (root)".

By following these steps, you can easily organise documents into folders.
