How to Manage Client Problems (New Client Card)
This article covers how to edit or delete client problems in the client card in Pabau.
This article covers the new Client Card, available to selected clinics from August 2026. If your Client Card looks different, see the How to Manage Client Problems (Classic) guide instead.
Step 1: Navigate to the Client Card
Start by logging in to your Pabau account using your login credentials. Then navigate to the search bar at the top of the page and type at least three letters of the client’s name — Pabau will filter the results as you type. Click the client’s name to open their card.
Step 2: Open the Client Problems Section
In the client card, click EMR in the navigation at the top (this tab is labelled Chart for US accounts). This opens the EMR overview grid. Click the Client Problems card to view the client’s problem list. If you don’t see the Client Problems card, the Diagnostics feature is not enabled for your business.
The Client Problems section is split into two tabs, Active and Inactive, each showing a count of records. Active problems count towards the condition total shown on the Medical History banner at the top of the EMR overview. Inactive problems are stored separately and can be reactivated at any time.
Step 3: Manage a Problem
Locate the problem you want to manage and click the three-dot menu on the far right of its row.
The following options will appear:
-
Edit: Opens the Edit Problem window — the same form as when the problem was created, with all existing details pre-populated. Make your changes and click Save to apply them. For more information on how to fill in the problem fields, read our How to Record a Client Problem (New Client Card) article.

-
Mark as Inactive / Mark as Active: Moves the problem between the Active and Inactive tabs straight away, without permanently removing it. This is useful when a condition is no longer current but should still be kept on the record for reference.
-
Delete: Permanently removes the problem. A confirmation prompt will appear asking you to confirm the deletion before it is finalised.

NOTE: Deleting a problem is permanent and cannot be undone. If you want to keep a record of a condition that is no longer active, use Mark as Inactive instead.
With your client problems managed, the Active tab will always reflect the client’s current conditions, keeping their clinical record accurate and up to date.
