Your invoices come across, but the claims you sent through Claim.MD stay in your Claim.MD account. The historical sync finds those claims and links them to your insurer invoices in Pabau, bringing their status history, claim details and payer responses with them, so each claim carries on in Pabau where your old system left off. **NOTE:** Available for practices in the United States that use insurance billing with a connected Claim.MD account. The sync only reads from your Claim.MD account: nothing is ever submitted, and no payments are posted to your invoices. **Step 1: Open the Sync Tab** 1. Go to **Setup → Claims → Claim.MD**. 2. Click **Sync**. You'll see **Sync historical claims** and a list of your insurer-issued invoices. If you see **Connect your Claim.MD account first**, click **Go to Credentials** and connect your account. The sync reads claim history from your own account, so it needs valid credentials; settings used only for submitting new claims are not required. **Step 2: Find the Invoices to Check** Each row shows the **Invoice**, **Client**, **Insurer**, **Invoice date**, **Service date**, **Total**, its **Historical sync** status and when it was **Last checked**. To narrow the list, use **Search invoice number or client…**, **All insurers**, **All sync statuses**, **Invoice date from** and **Invoice date to**. **Step 3: Select the Invoices and Process Them** 1. Tick the invoices you want to check, or tick the box at the top of the list to select the whole page. When more invoices match your filters than fit on the page, click **Select all (number) invoices matching these filters**. 2. The sync runs in the background, so you can leave the page: progress is saved and the table updates as invoices are checked. **Sync progress** shows how far it has got, for example **Retrieving Claim.MD history…** and then **Matching and importing the selected invoices**, with a count of the invoices processed and the claims found in your Claim.MD account. For each invoice, Pabau looks through your Claim.MD history and compares the payer, the client's member number (or their name and date of birth), the service date of the linked appointment and the billed amount. A single strong match is imported automatically; anything ambiguous waits for you to review. **Step 4: Read the Results** The **Historical sync** column tells you what happened to each invoice: - **Synced**: the claim history was imported. - **No match found**: no claim in your Claim.MD account matched the invoice. - **Needs review**: Pabau found possible claims but needs you to pick one (Step 5). - **Failed**: the check did not finish. Select the invoice and process it again. - **Already has claim data**: skipped, because the invoice already has a claim in Pabau. **IMPORTANT:** Processed is not the same as imported. When a run finishes, the summary tells you how many invoices were imported, had no match, are awaiting your review, failed or were skipped. **Step 5: Review Uncertain Matches** 1. Click **Review** on an invoice marked **Needs review**. 2. Compare each Claim.MD claim offered with the invoice: **Payer**, **Member number**, **Patient identity**, **Service date**, **Billed amount** and **Procedure codes** are each marked as matching or not. 3. Click **Confirm match** on the right claim. Its history is imported in the background. **TIP:** Pabau needs a member number or a date of birth on the client record to match a claim safely. If a client has neither, add them to the client record and check the invoice again. **Step 6: View the Imported Claim** 1.
