# How to Enable Reviews

## In this article, we'll show you how to enable reviews in Pabau, including activating the public review link, turning on feedback notifications, and automating review requests after appointments, allowing you to start collecting valuable feedback.

### Configure and Enable Reviews

#### Step 1: Navigate to Feedback Survey Settings

[Log in to your Pabau account](https://app.pabau.com/) and in the left sidebar menu, click on **Marketing**, then click on **"[Reviews](https://app.pabau.com/marketing/reviews)."** Click the **"Settings"** button in the top right corner of the Reviews page.

Alternatively, navigate to **[Setup](https://app.pabau.com/setup)** and click on **"[Feedback Survey](https://app.pabau.com/setup/reviews-config)"** under Marketing and Communication.

#### Step 2: Configure Your Survey

Before enabling reviews, make sure your feedback survey is configured to your requirements.

#### Step 3: Enable the Review Link

Once your survey is set up, toggle on the **"Review Link"** switch at the top of the page to activate your public review page. When enabled, the URL shown is your clinic's hosted review page where clients can leave and read reviews.

#### Step 4: Save Your Settings

Click **"Next Step"** at the bottom of the **Builder** page to continue to **Questions**, then click **"Save Settings"** in the bottom right corner to apply the changes.

**IMPORTANT:** The **"Save Settings"** button sits on the **Questions** step, not on **Builder**. If you leave the page from the Builder step without continuing, your changes are not saved.

### Enable the Request Feedback Notification

#### Step 1: Navigate to Client Notifications

In the left sidebar menu, navigate to **[Setup](https://app.pabau.com/setup)**, then click on **"Client Notifications"** under the Communications section.

#### Step 2: Enable Request Feedback

In the list of available client notifications, locate **"Request feedback"** and open it. Under **Enable Confirmations** at the top of the page you will find an **Email** toggle and an **SMS** toggle - switch on either or both, independently.

**NOTE:** These are the same two settings the **Notifications** section of the Feedback Survey Builder reports as **Enabled** or **Disabled**.

#### Step 3: Save Changes

Click **"Save"** in the top right corner to apply the changes.

### Automate Feedback Requests After Appointments

#### Step 1: Navigate to the Calendar

In the left sidebar menu, click on **"[Calendar](https://app.pabau.com/calendar)."**

#### Step 2: Open Calendar Settings

Click the **cogwheel icon** in the top right corner of the calendar and select **"Settings"** from the menu.

#### Step 3: Enable the Default Feedback Request

Click on the **"Appointment Settings"** tab. Here you will find a **"Request feedback (Default)"** checkbox. Enabling this checkbox will automatically select the feedback request option whenever a new appointment is booked, ensuring that a feedback survey is sent to the client after their appointment is completed.

**NOTE:** This setting pre-selects the feedback request on every new appointment. It is only applied where the matching channel is switched on in **Client Notifications** - so if neither Email nor SMS is enabled for **Request feedback**, no survey is sent. You can still change the setting on an individual appointment before saving it.

With all three parts completed, clients will automatically receive a feedback survey after their appointments, and their reviews will appear on your Reviews dashboard and public review page.

#### **How do I ask one client for a review by SMS?**

Review requests are linked to an appointment, so the simplest way is to let Pabau send one when that client's appointment is completed:

1. Make sure **SMS** is switched on for **Request feedback** in **Setup → Client Notifications** (see above).
2. When you book or edit the client's appointment, keep the feedback request option selected. Hover over it to see **Send a feedback request form on appointment completion.**
3. Mark the appointment as **Complete**. Pabau texts the client a link to review that visit.

To text a client a review link at any other time, send them an SMS from their client card ([How to Send an SMS to a Client from the Client Card](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/how-to-send-an-sms-to-a-client-from-the-client-card-new-client-card?hsLang=en)) and paste in your review page address, the URL shown under **Review Link** in Step 3 above.

**NOTE:** The review link merge tags only fill in when a message is linked to an appointment. An SMS sent from the client card isn't linked to one, so those tags come out blank. Paste your review page address instead.
