Step 1: Navigate to Setup
To begin customizing how client search works, first make sure you’re logged into your Pabau account. Then click Setup in the left sidebar menu — this takes you into the area where most of your clinic’s core settings are managed, including search behavior and custom fields.
Step 2: Access Fields
Once you’re in Setup, click the Data tab under the Business section, and a dropdown will show where you can click the Fields sub-tab.
Step 3: Customize Search Results
At the top of the screen, you will find 4 options. Select "Customize Search Results" to continue.
On the left side of the page, you’ll see a list of fields that can be shown or hidden in the search results. These might include:

First Name (always shown)
-
Last Name (always shown)
-
Email
-
Mobile
-
Client ID
-
Date of Birth
-
Labels
-
Book Appointment
-
Active only
First Name and Last Name are fixed — they stay visible because they’re essential for identifying clients. The other options can be turned on or off to match your team’s needs.
As you toggle each option, the preview table on the right updates instantly so you can see what the results will look like.
Step 4: Save Your Configuration
Once you’re happy with how the fields look:
✔️ Click Save to store your configuration
✔️ The next time you search for clients in Pabau, your saved layout will automatically appear
Your custom setup stays in place, so you don’t have to adjust settings every time you search.
