If you can't find **Plans** in your sidebar, message us via the in-app chat and we'll help. Plan templates are reusable plans: the services, packages, products, resources, settings and design you send most often. Applying a template fills a new plan in one click. In this article, you will learn how to build a template, design the pages your client sees, and apply, duplicate or edit your templates. **Step 1: Open Your Templates** On the **Plans** page, click **Templates**. You can search your templates, and each one shows what it contains. **AI Suggestions** reads your active services, products and packages and suggests bundles you could save as templates. The **Items** tab works just like building a plan (see [How to Build and Send a Treatment Plan](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/how-to-build-and-send-a-treatment-plan?hsLang=en)): - **Plan settings**: **Plan name** is the template's name. Set **Expires after** (45 days to start with), the **Print template** and the client portal switches: **Allow booking**, **Request signature**, **Take payment online** and **Payment amount**. - **Message**: write the note your client reads. **+ Add a macro** and **Insert merge tag** add saved text and client details. - **Options & phases**, **Services**, **Packages**, **Products** and **Resources**: add the items, with their prices, discounts and tax. ![Build template with Plan settings, client portal switches, the Message card and the Template summary](https://support.pabau.com/hubfs/Pabau%202%20Knowledge%20Base/kb/plans-2026/kb-plans-g3-02-build.png) *Building a template* **NOTE:** Template prices are a starting point. You can change them on each plan you build from the template. **Step 3: Choose Who Can Use It and Save** In the **Template summary**, click **Only me** to choose who can use and edit the template: **Only me**, **Everyone** in your clinic, or **Specific people**. The **Pages** rail on the left lists the pages of the plan. Drag the tiles to reorder them, and click **+ Add page** to add your own page with text, images and a background. Click **Plan items** to customise the main page: - **Header**: the **Page title**, **Byline** (plan author, clinic name or hidden), **Header picture** (client initials, clinic logo or none) and **Accent colour**. - **Opening note** and **Closing note**: formatted text, with **Insert merge tag**. Merge tags are filled in from the client, their linked appointment and the plan's author when the plan is viewed. - **Sections**: rename, reorder or hide each section. This is the welcome page your client opens their plan from in the client portal. A live preview updates as you go. - **Show an intro page**: switch off to take clients straight to the plan. - **Appearance**: **Standard**, **Coastal**, **Warm**, **Botanical** or **Modern**, then fine-tune the colours and heading font. - **Wording and background**: a **Background media** image or video link, the headings, welcome message, cover title and button label. In a plan you have already started, click **Apply template** on the **Message** card. Applying a template copies its items, design and intro page, and its plan settings, including the expiry, location, print template, client portal switches and fee distribution. Its message is copied too, unless you have already written your own. Make your changes and click **Save template**. - **Duplicate** adds a copy named "**\[name\] (copy)**" that you can edit. - **Delete** removes the template after you confirm.
