New enquiries often come from people who are not in Pabau yet. Engage lets you turn the sender into a lead or a client without leaving the conversation — and links the conversation to the new record automatically. This article shows you how.
Step 1: Open the Unlinked Conversation
Unlinked conversations show Not a patient in the header, next to Link patient and Create new.
Step 2: Click Create New
Click Create new. The Create lead or client window opens with the sender’s details already filled in from the conversation — their name and, where the channel provides it, their phone number or email address.
Step 3: Choose Lead or Client
Pick what to create:
- Lead — a prospect or enquiry. Choose this for someone shopping around; they enter your leads pipeline.
- Client — a full patient record. Choose this for someone who is booking in.
Check the name fields, then click Create lead (or Create client). The record is created in Pabau, the conversation is linked to it, and the patient panel fills in.
NOTE: You can convert a lead to a full client later in Pabau — so when in doubt, start with a lead.
