[Labs & Pharmacies](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/developer-other?hsLang=en#labs-pharmacies) # How to Connect Randox or VHL and Order Tests From the Client Card Clinics in the United Kingdom can connect Pabau to Randox Health and to VHL (Viva Health Laboratories) using the clinic’s own sign-in for the lab’s portal. Once connected, you order tests from the client card and Pabau places the order with the lab for you, prints the lab’s own form for the sample, and brings the results back into the client’s record automatically. **Before You Start** - You need access to Setup to connect a lab. Any staff member who can order labs can then order from Randox or VHL. - Have the username and password your clinic uses to sign in to the Randox or VHL portal, and the provider number the lab gave your clinic. - The client needs a date of birth and a sex (male or female) on their record before you can order for them. **Step 1: Open the Lab’s Setup** 1. Go to **Setup ▸ Integrations ▸ Labs**. If you don’t see **Integrations**, turn off **Simple mode** at the top right of the Setup page. 2. Under **Available integrations**, find **Randox Health** or **Viva Health Laboratories** (VHL). The list shows the labs for your clinic’s country. 3. Click **Configure now**. The lab’s setup opens with two steps: **Link your lab** and **Map your tests**. **Step 2: Link Your Lab** 1. Enter the **Provider number** the lab issued to your clinic. 2. Enter the **Username** and **Password** you use for the lab’s portal. 3. Click **Check connection**. Pabau signs in to the lab’s portal and confirms the connection. Pabau saves the sign-in when you check it, encrypted, and uses it only to connect to the lab. 4. Open **Lab Details** and make sure **Address line 1** is filled in. 5. Click **Continue**. **IMPORTANT:** Pabau saves the sign-in even if the check fails. If it fails, correct the details and click **Check connection** again until it works. **Step 3: Map Your Tests** **Map your tests** lists the panels and tests the lab offers. Mapping a test links it to a service in Pabau, so it has a price when you order it. Search the list, or filter it to **Panels** or **Tests**. - **Map service:** link a test to one of your existing services. - **Quick map:** set a **Price** and click **Create & map**. Pabau creates a matching service in the lab’s service category and maps it straight away. - **Link all:** set one **Price for every service** and click **Create & map** (the button shows how many services it will create). Pabau creates a service for every unmapped test in the current view. You can change the prices later in Services. A big catalogue takes a few minutes, and you can click **Stop** at any time. When you’re done, click **Finish setup**. The lab moves to **Your labs**. **TIP:** You don’t have to map every test now. If you order a test that isn’t mapped yet, a **Set pricing** step opens during the order so you can price it there. **Step 4: Choose the Tests** 1. Open the client’s client card, click the **+** button in the bottom right corner and click **Order labs**. 2. Click **Randox Health** or **Viva Health Laboratories**. If you can’t see them, click the **UK** chip. 3. Pick the tests and panels from the lab’s catalogue. 4. Check the **Randox order codes** or **VHL order codes** list under your selection. A test marked **No Randox code** or **No VHL code** can’t be ordered from the lab: remove it, or pick the same test from the lab’s catalogue instead. 5. Click **Continue**. If a test isn’t priced yet, set its price on **Set pricing** and click **Create services & continue**. **Step 5: Send the Order to Randox** On the **Send** step, Pabau checks the order with Randox first and shows **Your Randox order**: whether the client is already in your Randox patients or will be added, the **Total (your Randox prices)**, the **Sample tubes** to use and any **Randox instructions**. 1. Choose the **Reason for the test**. 2. Under **Sample**, choose **Collected in clinic** and enter the **Collection date** and **Collection time**, whether the **Patient was fasting** and any other relevant details. Tick **Consent to collect the sample was obtained** and answer **Patient consents to research use of their sample**. Or choose **Save to Randox to finish later**: the order waits in Randox’s incomplete orders until you enter the sample collection in Randox. 3. Click **Submit to Randox** (or **Save to Randox**). 4. When you see **Order submitted to Randox** and the **Randox order number**, click **Continue to print**. If you saved the order to finish later, there’s nothing to print yet: click **Finish in Randox** to complete it in Randox. 5. Click **Print order form**. Send the form with the sample: it carries the order barcode and a sheet of specimen labels. **NOTE:** For some tests Randox asks for clinical details that Pabau can’t send. Pabau tells you which ones, and the order can only be saved to Randox and finished there. **Step 6: Book the Tests With VHL** On the **Send** step, Pabau checks the booking with VHL first and shows **Your VHL booking**, with the **Total (your VHL prices)** and any **VHL requirements**. 1. Choose the **VHL clinic** to book under. 2. Check the **Patient details for VHL**: email, phone and address. For a patient under 16, also enter a parent or guardian. 3. Under **Clinical information**, enter the **Relevant clinical history** and tick **Patient is fasting** or **Patient is pregnant** if they apply. 4. If a test needs a VHL test kit, choose where VHL sends it under **Test kit delivery**: **To the clinic**, **To the patient** or **Another address**. 5. Click **Book with VHL**. 6. When you see **Booked with VHL** and the **VHL order number**, click **Continue to print**. 7. Click **Print request form**. Send it with the sample: VHL uses it to match the sample to the booking. The order appears on the client’s **Lab Tests** tab, and Pabau saves the lab’s form to the client’s documents. **NOTE:** If the lab doesn’t take the order, Pabau tells you why. Click **Try again**: Pabau checks with the lab first, so the lab never gets the same order twice. Don’t place the same order in the lab’s portal yourself unless Pabau offers **Order in Randox instead** or **Book in VHL instead**. **Step 7: Cancel an Order** 1. On the client’s **Lab Tests** tab, open the order’s menu and click **Cancel**. 2. For Randox, choose a **Reason** and click **Cancel order**. Pabau cancels the order in Randox first, then in Pabau. 3. For VHL, enter the **Reason for VHL** and click **Cancel booking**. Pabau asks VHL to cancel and cancels the order in Pabau. VHL shows the booking as pending cancellation until its team confirms it. If the lab can’t cancel the order, Pabau offers **Cancel in Pabau only**. The order then stays open at the lab, so contact the lab if it needs cancelling there too. **Step 8: Get the Results** You don’t need to do anything to receive results. Pabau checks Randox and VHL for new results every half hour and adds them to the client’s **Lab Tests** tab. To bring results in straight away, click **Sync results** on the lab’s card in **Setup ▸ Integrations ▸ Labs**, click **Sync results now**, then select the new results and click **Import**.
