[Custom Reports](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/analytics?hsLang=en#custom-reports) # How to Build a Custom Report with AI (Create with AI) **Create with AI** lets you build a custom report by describing what you want to know in your own words, for example "new clients by month this year". Ava, Pabau's in-app guide, picks the data, the columns and the filters, then opens the finished layout in the report builder for you to check and save. **NOTE:** Create with AI appears while Ava is your clinic's in-app guide, which is during your first months on Pabau. If you don't see it, build the report yourself as described in [How to Create a Custom Report from Scratch](https://support.pabau.com/en/pabau2/how-to-create-a-custom-report-from-scratch?hsLang=en). You also need the **Can create custom reports** permission. **Step 1: Open Create with AI** 1. Type your question in Ava's message box and send it. Be specific about what you want to count or total, how to group it, and the date range, for example "appointments by practitioner last month" or "invoices over £500 this quarter with the client name". ![The Let's build your report page with Ava open in the corner and her message box marked](https://support.pabau.com/hubfs/Pabau%202%20Knowledge%20Base/kb/gap-2026-10/490355150032-03-ava.png) *Ask Ava in the chat in the corner* Ava works out which data to use, chooses the columns and sets the filters, then opens the report builder with everything filled in. A short building screen shows while the report loads. **Step 3: Check the Report and Save It** The report opens in the normal report builder, so you can change anything Ava chose: add or remove columns, adjust the filters and click **Run** to refresh the results. When it looks right, give the report a name and click **Save Report**. **IMPORTANT:** If you see a message such as **1 filter Ava asked for could not be applied**, the report isn't filtered on the fields it lists. Add those filters by hand before you rely on the numbers.
